Miniatures, battlemats and distance

posted Aug 23, 2018 08:59:45 by EduardoTarilonte
Hello,
I am already learning the Conan system which I am finding amazing. I see that the movement or tactics are abstract. I like the idea, but I have lots of minis and scenery that I love to use in my games. I am wondering if there are some official or unofficial rules for distances in 1 inch battlemats. Anyone using something similar?
Thanks in advance.

Officially distance is determened by zone. Unofficially, scale is 30mm so 1 inch = 5 feet is not too far off.

Thanks for your reply Steve, but I still have some doubts.
When you say scale is 30mm, what do you mean? The miniatures scale?
What I would like to know (aprox)is the "real" distance for close, medium, long and extreme zones.
Thank you!

The scale of most miniatures right now is 28 to 30 mm. So 25 mm (1 inch) would be about 5 feet on a 6 foot tall character. According to the rules, there is no set distance for ranges. Ranges are determined by zones which are kind of line of site type things. There is nothing official about measured ranges.
