Improvised weapon damage

posted Jun 21, 2018 11:15:11 by sword3274
My apologies if this has been asked previously.

I was reading over weapon qualities and I saw the "Improvised" quality and I want to make sure I'm understanding it correctly. With improvised weapons, only damage from 1's and 2's and any non-damage Effects count, correct? The 1 damage from the Effect result as well as any Effect that generates damage (Vicious) are not counted?

Sorry if the questions seems obvious, but I wanted to be certain.

As Nathan said on G+
Improvised means that an Effect rolled means "0 + Effect", instead of "1 + Effect".

Vicious 1 means that each Effect is worth +1 damage.

So, if you've got an Improvised, Vicious 1 weapon, then an Effect rolled does 1 damage, but that 1 damage has come from Vicious 1 - the Effect doesn't provide any on its own without the Vicious 1, due to Improvised.

The end result is the same (1 damage per Effect in total), which is why I said they cancel out.
