Supporting Characters

posted Mar 24, 2018 01:43:52 by PatricHenson
I was just thinking, once supporting characters reach their 13 appearances, they only lack 1 Attribute point and 2 Discipline points. I think it would be really great to use a beloved guest star to replace a fallen comrade. Assuming the supporting character had already "maxed out" (on freebies at least) you could just grant them the attribute point and Discipline points and have a player that lost their character turn the supporting character into a full-fledged PC. I think that would be fun and cool in a "promote from within" kind of way.

Just my random thought as I compulsively check my email for an update lol

Sure! You can probably switch any Supporting Character to Creation In Play to turn them to a PC. Then you don’t have to wait...just upgrade them right there and then.

Speaking of Supporting Characters, I almost missed the new Ship Talent in the Command Division book, Dedicated Personnel (since it was in an LCARS sidebar hidden beside the Captain's Yacht). The two added Crew Support points in a department seems just like what my small group needs.

So is the intent of the rules to have very fluid transition between Main and Supporting Characters? In other words, is the intent of the rules to deliberately develop non-player characters, using the XP gained by the Main Characters?
