A "quick" demo adventure recommendation

posted Feb 05, 2018 05:08:09 by rrcautela007

Has anyone succesfully run a 4-hour (give or take) Conan convention-style adventure from any of the already published ones?

I gave The Red Pit a spin but found it a bit too long (however it could be that I am a bit too dense - LOL).

Maybe Vultures Over Shem or perhaps The Pit of Kuthallu would serve nicely as a swell intro to Conan?

Vultures of Shem could work though I'd hesitate if I were on a tight time schedule. I haven't run the Pit of Kotallu but just from reading it, I think it could fit very well in a 4 hour slot.

We started "Pact of Xialbalba" yesterday. We played out the sinking part at the beginning quite a bit but if you keep that short - after all, it is inevitable - I think you could run that in 4 hours as well.

Oh, the very first adventure we played while Conan was still playtested. I forgot the adventure's title but it revolved around warning aquilonian settlers of an impending Pict attack. That did work very well.

The Pit of Kutallu would be ideal. My group ran Vultures of Shem, and although you could squeeze it within a 4 hour window, it would be tight. Good luck with whatever you run.
