Starship combat standalone

posted Dec 15, 2017 20:33:27 by GaryDowning
Any chance we could see a starship combat game based on the rules in the core rulebook?

Just hazarding a guess (as I'm not staff), but not as long as the Attack Wing game exists? A lot of these licenses tend to be very specific as to what kinds of game can be produced and are set up to avoid competition between licensees.

Modiphius usually go straight for the wargames angle (I believe Admiral Birch is a fan of the Little Wars) and there's been no mention of such with this one :( With all these miniatures, I'd guess we may see a skirmish game before long if it's allowed...

We're not licensed for a ship to ship war game. You are welcome to use any of the games already out there if you feel the need for ship to ship miniatures gaming.

A very large bird told me that the forthcoming Operations book will have a ground combat system that is more tactical. I forgot to ask Mr. Bird if it would include a more tactical starship combat system, but from Mr Steve Hanson's comments above, that sound unlikely.

No starship miniatures system, just ground troops. Although you could fight it out on a ship if you really wanted to.

Steve Hanson or designers - If I (generic "I") developed a map based starship combat version of starship combat, could I (generic "I") post it on this forum, or would that be considered inappropriate or violate some licensing rules?
