Shipping update

posted Oct 11, 2017 00:11:23 by SteveHanson
From Chris Birch

We're emailing all outstanding customers with an update - the factory has had some delays due to the frankfurt book fair (which is the equivalent of GenCon for gaming but on a gigantic worldwide scale) so production times have been shifting more than planned (some items went in to production later as previously explained due to approvals and that's caused us to get stuck in some of the chaos around the book fair). Anyway here's what we're emailing out so it's clear. This could still change - shipments are planned but there can still be delays (trucks are at a premium due to the fair) out of our control but we're emailing customers if anything changes to let them know.

BORG CUBES
Our factory has just notified us that they will be shipping the first batch of 90 Borg cubes to us this week. This means they’ll be ready to ship the week beginning Monday 16th October. After those first 90, the factory will send us the following 350 or so preorders in waves so that we can fulfil them as they come in over two weeks from Monday 16th. Orders will be fulfilled in order of purchase, so the first 90 orders will be sent out first, then the remaining cubes after that. Customers in the United States should be aware that delivery of these items can take 10 days. Tracking details are provided at the point of dispatching them in the UK, but the actual information will not be live until the packages are ready to go out of the country, around 48 hours later. These are limited, expensive items, and we’ve taken every effort to make sure they arrive in a timely manner and in perfect condition.

BORG DRONES
Borg drone bundles have been completed by our factory and are being shipped to our warehouse, meaning we can fulfil orders. These are due to be shipped from our warehouse at the beginning of next week, from Monday 16th October. Customers in the United States should be aware that delivery of these orders can take around 10 days. Tracking details are provided at the point of dispatching them in the UK, but the actual information will not be live until the packages are ready to go out of the country, around 48 hours later. These are limited, expensive items, and we’ve taken every effort to make sure they arrive in a timely manner and in perfect condition.

STARTER BUNDLES AND TILE SETS
Gamemaster Screens have been printed by our factory and are being shipped to our warehouse. They are due in, by the end of this week and so we can begin fulfilment of these items from Monday 16th October. Customers in the United States should be aware that delivery of these items can take 10 days. Tracking details are provided at the point of dispatching them in the UK, but the actual information will not be live until the packages are ready to go out of the country, around 48 hours later.

THESE ARE THE VOYAGES
These Are The Voyages: Mission Compendium Volume 1 are being finished off by our factory in about a week and will be shipped to our warehouse the week of the 16th October, which means with shipment from Europe, stock will be checked in and prepared for dispatch from Monday 23rd October. Customers in the United States should be aware that delivery of these items can take 10 days. Tracking details are provided at the point of dispatching them in the UK, but the actual information will not be live until the packages are ready to go out of the country, around 48 hours later. Any order that also contains These Are The Voyages, alongside Borg cubes, drones, and bundles, will be processed and dispatched from 23rd October as noted above.

@Joseph, I'm sorry, but there's no guarantee that you will get number 52. You may get one higher or lower, but it should still be fairly low. I understand how potentially disappointing that is, I'm in the same boat but I was number 5 on the counter.

@StevenHanson Does that mean I will likely receive a number at random but will still be in the first 90? Or will the first 90 be at random too?

You should be in the first 90.

When the shipments start (hopefully) going out this week, who will be delivering for customers within the UK?

Just got an email about the fun stuff getting shipped out on the 23rd, and I have to say that this whole ordeal makes me rather salty. This entire bout of insanity is one colossal goof-up. I mean, let's do pre-orders for a game, not tell anyone that they can expect delays on the big boy pre-orders until after the fact, then ignore the fact that the big pre-orders are being delayed while focusing on everything other than the fact that a chunk of your customer base are still out in the cold, while watching as that subsection of the customer base gets to watch everyone enjoy physical copies of your product. All the while they just go 'oh well, we'll contact you once the screw-up gets fixed', and then they go back to their fun and games. I know that this might not be a popular thing to bring up, but..., WOW. This is customer relations on a level akin to the amazingness (Insert Sarcasm) of a certain company's past that loves using D20s (And that is by far not a compliment). I had never run into this level of incompetence from Modiphius until this product rolled out. I am glad that there is finally a date, but if this is how Modiphius is going to conduct business from now on, then there is no point in dealing with a company that can't ship to ALL their customers until it's convenient to them. At least we know a date that they have deigned to dole out the remainder of the missing products.

Printing delays are not something that Modiphius has any control over.

A question related with the last email about the delay with the shipments. I ordered my starter bundle (collector's edition) two months ago, and I paid the shipping cost. Two weeks ago I decided to order the TATV and, again, I paid the shipping cost. Now seems that my two orders will be sent at once. But I paid twice the shipping cost. Can I claim the refund of one of the shipping costs?

I'm sorry to be the bearer of baddish news, but things have slipped a wee bit. The supplies of Borg Cubes are coming in this week and will start shipping the 23rd. Everything else appears to be on schedule.

Steve 2 questions.
1 does that mean the cubes to preordered retail cubes will be shipped when?
2 I just got an email about the deck tiles. We're the pdfs of those supposed to available to preorders? I got character sheets, but nothing else.

Thanks.

Will we receive a shipping notice via email when our order is shipped?

I got this in an email in my inbox today:

"However, by waiting you'll be receiving a Star Trek Adventures Limited Edition core rulebook from the second print run, which has been corrected with the errata - so it will match the corrected PDFs you will have already received."

I was a little confused: will I be getting an LE copy despite not ordering one? And is this in addition to the uncorrected first print run?

And does not waiting negate the whole deal?! :P
