Opinions Please

Among my other duties, I run demos. Yes I know I have until Marchish to prepare things, but I don't like to wait until the last minute. I put Banners mounted on 20" x 30" (508mm x 762mm) foancore on the table when I run demos. I have this design and would like some feedback from fans of the game. would this grab your attention well enough that you would walk across the room to see what's going on? I am a mostly mature adult and can take criticism well. Just don't sy it sucks without giving suggestion.

Not too bad, would think a slight border for the "I want you..." part would help.

In my unprofessional opinion, it's got TOO MUCH going on. You've got the rusty "fallout shelter" sign with Vault Boy pasted on it, references to the "I WANT YOU" old-style poster but in OVERSEER font, what looks like a blood streak across "SHELTER" (though it looks like it was pulled from a drawing on a white background with Adobe Photoshop's "Magic Wand" what with the white "halo" around it), and THEN you switch to a white "drippy paint" (not the same color as the red crossing out "SHELTER") for the "Wasteland Warfare" part.

It's like you have design ideas that could be turned into several different signs or posters and then they're ALL CRAMMED INTO ONE.

Instead, I'd think you could simplify it by trying one of a couple of different approaches:

1) "I WANT YOU": Try to ape the look of the old "I WANT YOU TO JOIN THE US ARMY" poster -- white background, sans-serif typeface, Uncle Sam replaced with Vault Boy, text changed to "I WANT YOU TO LEARN FALLOUT WASTELAND WARFARE" -- and then some white spatter-brush distress over the text to make it look slightly worn, and a multiply layer of some sort of weathered-paper texture for "aging." There are several variations on the old Uncle Sam poster, and a Google image search brings up several examples, but it's big, it's bold, and it communicates the "retro" aspect simply, with "Vault Boy" for branding.

2) Altered FALLOUT SHELTER Sign: The "rusty Fallout Shelter" sign is an interesting look. Pasting Vault Boy on it, however, is overkill. Crossing out "Shelter" and putting "Wasteland Warfare" beneath it works, but you need to be consistent. If you're crossing out "Shelter" with red drippy paint, then the replacement writing ought to be red drippy paint as well. Or, go with white (or some near-white color, for maximum contrast with the black background) all the way.

I'd skip using the Overseer font for either of those, by the way. It's an obvious thing to use for "Fallout" look, but that works best if it's not clashing with the typeface look of the rest of the design. For an "I WANT YOU" poster, there's a particular type face that's going to carry the look. Ditto for "painted-over fallout shelter sign." Too many type-faces in one design, and it's just going to look pointlessly chaotic.

Looks like I have a lot to consider. I guess I'll spend tomorrow playing with variations on a theme. Thanks for the input guys.

looking at it if you are looking to do a fallout style advertisement try going for a good old fashioned one i'll give you some ideas but i should say i'm no pro.

Fist, drop everything you have right now it's honestly something i think i would see on a Facebook page trying to be Memey

second: for the actual image try to make it seem like the typical Fallout 2067 family boardgame have a couple of kids playing the game while the Dad sitting at a table painting one of the miniatures just off to the side.

third: for the actual wording have something like "Modiphius with it partners in Vault-Tech presents Wasteland Warfare, the worlds fist post nuclear stimulation board game" and maybe for a little extra Jaz have a shot of you limited edition Nuka girl on the lower corner in one of those star things with a "free while stocks last" just for a bit of fun

Finally: please don't try and compare yourself with something like Fallout shelter for the simple reason that both games will not affect the others market space, Fallout shelter is a now Old Free to play mobile game that has a PC port while your game is a new and upcoming Table top game the only way i could see any reason not to souly focus on your game is if fallout shelter was at the same event for a actual Table top vault simulation game.

i hope this helps out a little because i know how negative i can be around here
just someone who want's the best but always expects the worst
