reinforcements and command

posted Nov 01, 2016 13:03:24 by PeterAppleyard
If a commander is in reinforcement do you get his hand and play from the start or when he appears on the battlefield. I think A, not on the field so no influence and B, not until the next draw. Like a reverse of if a commander is taken out you still keep his hand and play until the next draw. Am I right or have I missed something.

You only get the cards for and get to play for on table units.

That's what I figured otherwise you can protect all your commanders from attack. Thanks for the confirmation.

Just to follow up, am I right about the second part. That a lost commanders cards are still valid for the rest of the turn or do you have to discard his value straight away. I have been playing it the first way.

Found the answer for above under "clean up".

Ooh - I've been playing this wrong - mind you, I'd never of thought of keeping commanders off the board to protect them!

I think it's a bad tactic to leave them off. If your only commander is killed, then you would only get one command card, which you would have to use to bring on the replacement. In effect you would miss a turn.
