Modiphius Launches FRONTIERS Living Campaign project

posted May 10, 2016 23:08:21 by SteveHanson
Modiphius FRONTIERS is a new initiative by UK games publisher Modiphius Entertainment to support the communities around its major roleplaying games: Achtung! Cthulhu, Mutant Chronicles, Conan and Infinity (with more to be added). The goal is to create a really fun and inclusive yearly living campaign for the whole community to join in with spectacular finales at major events.

Launching later this year, the Achtung! Cthulhu living campaign will be the first release, followed by Mutant Chronicles, and in 2017 Conan and Infinity. Modiphius wants to involve the community in making the living campaigns deliver everything you could want so please complete the survey at http://www.modiphius.com/modiphius-frontiers.html to help guide the development.

A living campaign could be described as a series of regularly released scenarios that groups commit to playing, and then each month submit results of their game. The new living campaigns from Modiphius will be taking information from those who play in them to shape the way the storyline grows. These will culminate in major convention scenarios that will decide the shape of things to come.

Modiphius is going to host the first of its Living Campaign special events for Achtung! Cthulhu at this year's Dragonmeet Tabletop Convention in London on Saturday December 3rd and plans to include European and USA conventions in 2017. You do not need to attend Dragonmeet to take part in the Living Campaign.

I'm certainly up for this. Done a few homebrew living campaigns before but they all fizzled out due to the GMs losing interest.

Any idea of a timeline? A!C (CoC flavor) would be the game for me.

That's where we're starting. I don't have any solid info yet on a timeline. I'd look for it this winter, the press release says the first event will be at Dragon meet, December 3.

Avoid meta-plot. It creates division!
Someone to oversee the whole line - no Pootle/Flumph NPCs, if you know what I mean.
Locales are better than points in history for development - "This one time in Belgium..."!

I love the Living Campaign idea, allows people to take there character from one table to another without having to worry about issues with the character.

I´m in the STA Living Campaing but in my city there is a group of Infinity wargame players who want to taste the rpg with a store supporting.

Next march 11 we´will run Paradise Countdown.

So, México is on.

I'm willing to run Frontiers games at my local game stores here in Bellingham, WA. (Whether other people are willing to play is another story.)

Is there a way to get the files without being charged $3.75 a month by mediafire to get pro?

I don't need 1 TB a month.

These files should be hosted here on Modiphius for free.

@ Thlaylie Umm... not seeing that. Most of the Mediafire stuff hosted by Modiphius is free (including a lot of Kickstarter material). You'll need to be more specific. Downloading them locally shouldn't be a problem, unless you're adding them to online storage?

I finally worked it out by just pounding on the folders until they downloaded.

When I used the supplied link, mediafire wouldnt let me go anywhere until I logged in, then they wouldn't progress beyond the go pro pop up.

I switched to their old site and used the pounding method above.

I informed Chris and he has adjusted the link.

I was afraid the forced cost would limit our subscribers.

Chris is Awesome!
