Firing into melee

posted Apr 06, 2016 22:30:43 by Citizen-171
I can't say I've seen any guidelines on how to handle shooting into melee, i.e. at a target that is within Reach of one of your friends. What did I miss?

Don't need one really. A Repercussion for firing into a melee is accidentally shooting your ally. Mwahaha.

That's how I do it as well - no strict penalty, but the risk of 'friendly fire' from a Repercussion is always enough to give my players a moment of pause...

While I appreciate the GOTCHA!, it seems like a cop-out. Shooting at an enemy in close combat with a friend is objectively more difficult (or so I assume; I never shoot anyone).

Difficulty of tasks is set by the GM in all cases; base difficulties represent the "normal" difficulty of a given task, but the GM is free to impose other modifiers as they see fit based on the circumstances in play at that particular moment. There's no hard-and-fast ruling, but there is a table of common factors for test difficulty in the Skills and Talents chapter.
