Why so 'Aggressor'-ive?

I just made an Imperial character that attended Paxton, joined the Wolfbairn, and graduated to the Wolfbane Commandos. As near as I can tell, each of those grants an 'Agressor' pistol. Is there anything that prevents duplication of equipment, or do I just get back-up copies?

There's nothing RAW that prevents duplication (though some careers in the sourcebooks only provide particular items if you've not already received them). If the GM wishes to prevent a character gaining multiple copies of the same item, they're free to, however.

I've let my players change duplicate weapons from creation as long as they don't switch a pistol for an assault rifle, for example.

If nothing else, they can just use the rules to liquidate extras into Assets.

You can make it even easier at character creation, I allow the players to turn in any piece of equipment for restriction+cost/2 in assets. They get less than if they sold it normally, but are guaranteed the payout since they don't need to make any rolls.
