To the OP, the Conan rules also dispense with the 1+Xd weapon damages and just have Xd. When you do that, you need to make the "Funky Symbol" (or 6) a point of damage plus effect to maintain roughly the same ratio of damage to armor values.
In MC, you could do the same thing, but I don't know what it gains you overall.
Characters in Mutant Chronicles have far more health boxes because of hit location than Conan characters do as well, right? Seems like that would require an overhaul to the damage numbers on similar weapons.
Not quite. Conan and Infinity characters regain their stress boxes much faster than characters regain even Light Wounds in Mutant Chronicles. It's a different way of handling health, rather than a strict "more/less health".
