Product Placement in Italy...

posted Oct 31, 2015 09:54:13 by Stefano Venturi
Greetings to all of the Mutant Chronicles R.P.G. Discussion Thread...

I started some days ago, in the appropriate Sub-Forum, a Topic about a potential Translation of Italy of the newest R.P.G. Iteration of the "Infinity Tabletop Wargame"; Yesterday I went to the biggest Game Convention of ALL of Italy, called "Lucca Games" (a sub-section of the larger "Lucca Comics") that is a renowned event quite large and attended by International Authors / Artists like the "Game Developer" Monte Cook and Illustrators like Lucio Parrillo or Ciruelo...

Even when the FORMER owners of the Mutant Chronicles Brand (from "Heartbreakers Miniatures" to their heirs) left the Roleplaying Game drop down for company failures there was a sizable "Fan-Base" that tried to "Keep Afloat" the interest in the brand with auto-sponsored game events and commissioned works to famous Italian Artists that made in the past good drawings and coloured images for the past game-systems (like Paolo Parente and Alex Horley)...

Obviously many of these "Italian M.C. Fans" were enthusiastly backers of the Mutant Chronicles R.P.G. Kickstart of Modiphius and are yet busy perusing about their received Pdf. Materials (and also the upcoming Printed Manuals for those who reached those plateaus of the Pledge Levels)...

They went to the level of printing Leaflets of the free images floating around Modiphius Websites (and also other R.P.G. Advertising Forums like "B.O.L.S." and other; taking care to NOT infringe Copyrights) and openly advertising them in their Stand-In Box on the Event biggest Canopy Tent...

As the attendance of the event is still enormous (ranging from 50.000 to 75.000 paid entrance tickets AT DAY, an enormous Level for the Italian Community) for a convention that started on Wednesday 28 October 2015 and will go on till Sunday 1 November 2015, then they are trying to diffuse and raise awareness level of Modiphius Products all around...

The very possible notion of a POTENTIAL Italian Translation of the various Manuals was obviously cheered and warmly received; I take care to collect Web-Contact and Mail Address of the most serious groups (not those that said only "...We Still Play ONLY the 15-Years Old M.C. Collectible Card Game, and That's All Folks.....!!") as they will be VERY glad to keep in touch with Modiphius to discuss ANY possible avenues of potential collaboration and "Burden Sharing"...

Thanks for that information Stefano,

I will make sure Chris reads this. Also it's worth dropping me an email about the groups and their info.

@Zarina...

Thanks for the reply, I contacted in those days the interested parties of the "Italian Fanbase" of the Mutant Chronicles Enthusiasts to signal Your kind answer...

As many of the more serious ones claimed to be very high-end backers of the M.C. Kickstart I suggested to them to try to use their "Preferential Backer Access" to directly forward any of their Questions...

What is also important to know is that many of them CLAIM to have (either in modern .Pdf Format or far OLDER "Virtual Media Storage" programs) much of the Italian Texts of the OLD R.P.G. Materials, so this claim could be VERY useful for Modiphius Staff for a POTENTIAL Translation of the Actual Modiphius Material in an EVENTUAl future collaboration...

What was a little confusing was that some had issues with the very old "Cyberpunk Styled Corporation Era", the newer "Steampunk Wargame" and the Dark Eden Supplement (that putting a "Steampunk Earth" in an otherwise High Science Fiction setting muddied the waters a lot)...

I will soon renew to them the need to properly contact Modiphius´Staff.....

Just an update that could be potentially useful...

This next weekend incoming (Saturday 21 November and Sunday 22 November) I could possibly attend the biggest "Comic Convention" in all of Austria, the "WienComic" that is based in the outskirt of the Capital...

There are perchance some of those German-Translators that are treating the Modiphius Material attending, so that I could possibly synergize My efforts.....???
