Character Creator

posted Sep 22, 2015 08:22:31 by ChristofferLundberg
Hi folks!

We have moved the Mutant Chronicles Character Creator over to its own site. It can now be found at http://mc3.modiphiusapps.hostinguk.org/. You'll find that the Mishima and Imperial stuff from the source books are implemented. Next up, Capitol :)

Ok, thanks Nathan. I think it is the Producer. It collides with the Capitol Producer.

I cannot see Brotherhood when choosing a faction. Am I using correct version? http://mc3.modiphiusapps.hostinguk.org/

Brotherhood isn't chosen in the same way as everyone else; the main way to join the Brotherhood is to take the Brotherhood Apprentice education. I'm not sure how Christoffer has programmed in the other ways to join the Brotherhood during character creation, though.

This is because nobody is born into the Brotherhood, they're recruited from elsewhere.

Douglas: My bad, fixing it now.

Nathan: I implemented it that way. When you choose the Brotherhood Apprenticeship education, your Faction gets changed to Brotherhood, opening up all the Brotherhood careers, events etc.

Something was mentioned in the Kickstarter thread for Infinity that I thought might be a good idea for one of the tools - a "Universal" index. With so many book out and coming, a single collected index is a fantastic idea.

This also makes me think about a combined timeline, fleshed out as each corporate fraction book comes out.

Yes, a combined timeline would actually be quite cool. What we could do is create it here on the forum first, and then I could make a section for it on the site.

A universal index is not a bad idea, but quite a lot of work :)

A universal index is something currently being worked on internally. Not sure when it'll be ready, though.

New update:

- Elective skills were bugged. You could assign more points than should be possible to any one skill.

Updated today:

- It's back! The 3rd and 4th career phase :D :D
- Added the option of being able to extend a career by an additional 1d6+1 years and thus getting another career event.

I'm currently thinking about the Quick Character system, about not allowing so many options as I do currently. The problem is that even if you select an iconic career (or even a primary career), it is not 100% that you'll actually get it. It is up to what status and education you get in most cases, and if your iconic career try-out roll is successful. This leads me to believe in less options. Actually, only Faction might be the only option needed.
