Character Creator

posted Sep 22, 2015 08:22:31 by ChristofferLundberg
Hi folks!

We have moved the Mutant Chronicles Character Creator over to its own site. It can now be found at http://mc3.modiphiusapps.hostinguk.org/. You'll find that the Mishima and Imperial stuff from the source books are implemented. Next up, Capitol :)

Got a big error when trying to Export. Did the migration break that?

Hm. I believe it was said that if we were to choose the point buy system, we wouldn't be allowed to roll dices at all but instead we have to buy the result wherever it is possible. It also should be possible to choose the result instead of just rerolling (for example Faction Events) since it is with GMs approval.

Hmm, one could interpret the text about Optional Point Buy system in the way that no rolling is ever done. Never thought of it that way.

Yes, export is severely broken.

Another thing that would be great to have is the ability to back one or more step if, for example, I choose an advanced education, thinking I would then be able to choose a soldier education, only to realize that I don't have that option there. I sure beats having to do everything again. :)

I'll see what I can do :)

Also thinking of adding a "Fast chargen" feature where you get a character at the push of a button.

Well, sounds neat, but for an even better utility, perhaps you could consider making it so we can decide which part/s of the character creation we want to fast create (perhaps allowing us to choose which parts to fast create with checkboxes); for example: If I play on Venus in Heimburg, I might want to create a random Bauhaus NPC, not necessarily a Capitol/Mishima/Cybertronic e.t.c. NPC, or I might want to create a doomtrooper with military background careers, but Corporation afility, gender, background etc. wouldn't matter then.

Ok, so I know it's not "how the rules work" but I would LOVE a "fast chargen" with maybe a few options to create certain NPCs. I always like to make certain NPCs with the full chargen system back in the day, might be fun. Granted, it's not always useful, but it certainly can be!

Christoffer, since this character generator utility is something I, and probably a lot more RPers, follows with HUGE interest, maybe you could consider sending a short notice here, or on some place you feel is better, each time you update the generator with perhaps a short comment about what is improved since last update? Eagerly awaiting next update!

I was playing with the Mishima stuff last night, and noticed that I was able to take an Iconic Career - Shadow Walker - twice. As awesome as that is, I dont think that is rules kosher?

RobertAronsson said Sep 30, 2015 18:14:01
You're right. Only one iconic career.

Every time i try to chose a career, the generator bogs down.

I get stuck on career too. Both on Firefox and phone.
Be well,
